The Hackers (1988) (USA)

⭐️⭐️1/2

AJ Hacker and his two sons drive around rural Michigan doing odd jobs for various folks. They also murder random people on the road, un-paying customers and pretty much anyone who ticks them off. Marcie is housesitting for her boss in the middle of nowhere and has the bad luck of being the only one around when the Hacker clan come to do some renovations. She catches the eyes of the two sons and ends up fighting for her life when the trio of homicidal idiots decide its time to strike. Hacker son number one is a giant mute with a silly half mask made of tinfoil and Hacker son number two is a dwarf with a loud mouth and a temper. It’s a pretty dull and rambling time, saved by its excellently awful soundtrack, brief glimpses of late 80s Michigan and its bloody climax. Not the finest low-budget nonsense the Midwest has to offer but nowhere near the worst.
