A mountain-dwelling malevolent spirit brings a bit of chaos into the life of a young woman when her boyfriend goes missing. The peculiar thing is, his grandmother had just vanished a few days before. Grandma went on a little senior hiking trip and got herself marked by the creepy specter that looks like a little girl in red and calls the forested mountainside home. A little folklore goes a long way in adding substance to the familiar ghostly shocks and the dramatics between family and lovers hit the right notes. It does suffer a little from a feeling of traveling down a well-worn path but the haunted-forest-set climax brings a good amount of crazy to the proceedings... I mean, who wouldn’t want to see poorly-rendered cgi monster babies chasing our heroes through the woods like some pissed-off monkeys?
