A small-time paranormal program takes on a case after the host believes there is something seriously supernatural going down. She feels that this may be the moment that makes their show “Paranormal Closure” something worthwhile. Since this is unaired footage from a show that was pulled from all broadcast stations with no mention as to why, I’m guessing the threat is real and our host and her cameraman are long gone. Jennifer McCoy believes the strange crap happening in her family home is connected to her husband who vanished in the woods around the house some time ago. Police closed the case after a month and the local news ignores her pleas for assistance. Closing doors and spooky noises are one thing but a voice she hears coming from the woods is disturbing as all hell. Weird shit was already going down before her husband disappeared concerning the man of the house and it was caught on film thanks to her little girl recording the usual bullshit because she could. Nice convenient reason to catch your father’s deteriorating physical and mental health. Still not sure why his wife would wake up and grab a camera to film him wandering around the house with a knife but I’m not here to question the actions of idiots in found footage films. With no help from authorities and little hope in their own searches, the frustrated woman reached out to the paranormal investigators to assist. They get further than anyone else but all that means is they make contact with something better left undisturbed, will paranormal investigators in found footage films ever figure out that the cost of finding answers is far too steep. It’s a familiar story with the usual plot beats so it may not hold one’s interest all that well. The cast is pretty good (especially impressive when it comes to child actors in micro-budget affairs) until it gets a little too dramatic for them and the story at least strives to be more than the sum of its parts which I can respect. Bonus points for a likable man behind the camera.
