Sloven (2015) (USA)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steve is not surprised at all to come home and find that his notoriously untidy roommate has left the place a mess. Just assuming he pregamed the Halloween party they’ll be attending later that night, Steve doesn’t really stress it and just cleans it up. As he showers and preps it appears that his scummy roommate snuck back in the house to drink Steve’s vodka, leave another mess and exit the place just as quickly. All of this is done under the watchful gaze of a rubber devil mask his roommate had supposedly purchased for the costume party. Steve is further irritated when his finds out his roommate has smoked his weed but when he calls the man, he finds out that he hasn’t been home all day and he’s already at the party. But if he has his costume, what’s hanging on the wall? Short horror lands just under seven minutes and is nice little bit of Halloween hijinks and clocks in at just the right amount of time to get its point across and nail the landing. Outside of some voices on the phone and whatever stands under the mask, it’s a one man show capably handled by Baker Powell. Good time.
