Amateur ghost hunters. An abandoned insane asylum. Found footage. It’s a tale as old as time… well, as old as the massive success of The Blair Witch Project at least but this time it’s happening in Mexico! And yes, doomed idiots with a camera is an inevitability no matter what region of the world you find yourself in. I guess that’s kinda comforting. The place has a checkered past because any facility dealing in mental health before the mid-2000s had no idea what they were doing. The facility closed down and is now being targeted for demolition. Before the place is nothing but rubble, our heroes break on in to investigate. Wandering around in the green hue of night vision and arguing amongst each other is all familiar wherever your found footage haunted buildings stand and some the characters are just as annoying as usual. Boring ghost hunting (realistically, it’s always super boring) happens and then whatever presence calls the place home works its malicious magic and the untimely end for the adventurous quartet becomes inevitable. Nothing new, nothing offensive and there’s even a couple striking moments to keep you from nodding off completely.
