Two men set off into the woods to film themselves buck hunting on some newly acquired land. Attempting to get a show deal out of it, their frustration grows as they can't seem to get the buck they are after and they are plagued by a piercing scream that appears to be stalking them. Their cameras are catching nothing, whatever is screaming is escalating its "attacks" and the landowner may be hiding the secret of just what the hell is going on. A truly solid found footage film builds off of an urban legend and increases the atmosphere by taking the leads out of their element and throwing them deep in the woods on unfamiliar land. The simple threat is somehow creepy as hell and aided by likable characters being placed in the sights of a supernatural force that can’t be reasoned with. Helps that genre regular Josh Stewart always adds a quiet cool to his characters and is about as likable as can be. It all comes out as a nice showcase of how found footage can be done right as long as ya got folks taking things seriously.
