An insufferable psychopath and his equally irritating friend film various acts of torture, degradation and murder in this pointless “shocker” presented as a found snuff film. Extreme violence (although nothing compared to what would follow) and the usual bodily fluids are pretty much it and if you’re into that...well enjoy. Elicits the usual response this so called “edgy” cinema gets from me: a shrug and an extended amount of wondering what I could do to sooth the boredom. The quality is successfully cheap looking, pulling off the scumminess of a tenth generation bootleg vhs tape traded in some back alley for a couple pills and half a bag of blow. More annoying than anything, August Underground is a complete waste of time.
