Goblin (1993) (USA)

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Todd Sheets is at it again and Kansas City, Missouri is getting soaked in blood and viscera. Newlyweds move into a new house with the help of their buddies and find a locked suitcase in the basement. Sure, they’re horror fans but they’re also idiots, so they force that thing open. It’s full of junk, including an old book and medallion. They read from the book and it tells how the previous owner used black magic in a braindead attempt to save his farm but instead he just unleashed a demon that killed him and his family. Well, the demon comes back and starts graphically doing away with whatever idiot is standing around, waiting to get mutilated. Friends start dropping and the survivors flee to a neighbor’s house. The neighbor lets them know they’re dealing with a goblin and it eats people to gain power. The fight is on and the acting is of the best kind of bad and then there’s convenient climatic zombies. Weapons get shoved up asses and vaginas, guts get pulled out from various holes, metal music blares and the violence is especially wet. It’s your usual backyard mayhem that serves to allow folks to be sloppily offed in icky and budget-strained ways. No. I’m not complaining. If you’re familiar with the work of Sheets, ya know what you’re getting into. If not, I’d recommend getting drunk or high and just enjoying yourself.
