Alex Chandon, the brilliant(?) mind behind such classics as Bad Karma, Drillbit and Cradle of Fear unleashes a sloppy and amateur slice of short-form splatterness with this, his first stab at horror. It’s bare bones fun with credits painted out on paper, blaring metal music and the kind of squalor you can only find between actual friends sharing production money for booze and cheap-ass gore. These lovable nobodies are attacked by a psychopath wearing a stocking over his face and carrying garden shears and a chainsaw. That’s about it and that’s exactly what it needs to be. Chandon showcases his dementedness, which would fully bloom in the wonderful Bad Karma, as he focuses on the bloodletting which, as anyone who has sat through the early output of Olaf Ittenbach can tell you, is effective thanks to the low quality video and manic selling of all involved. There’s not much here to dwell on, it’s less than ten minutes long and has very little substance but you can fucking touch the thick blanket of enthusiasm soaked with fake blood and backward mentality.
