A Norwegian city is terrorized by a hungry cannibal in a black raincoat participating in an all-you-can-eat buffet with unwilling townies. His first victim is a woman he saves from being raped in an alley. He’s like a terrible Batman. A group of bible-enthusiast teenagers (the worst kind of teenagers) decide they need to put a stop to all the evil nonsense… not just of the cannibal, these streets are dangerous and filled with rapists, muggers and perverts. Also trash. Maybe when they set out to “clean up the streets” they were just talking about picking up garbage and I’ve been watching too many vigilante movies. How else can you make the place suitable for the return of the Lord? The cannibal prevents further crime but then adds to the bodycount like the shitty Batman he is. Crotch violence and mullets make their expected appearance and at 44 minutes things still feel dragged out. Indecipherable night for night shooting will have you relying on your ears to paint a picture of the carnage, kids trying to keep a straight face during Bible study will have you relying on your heart to critique this amateur horror flick. Listen to it, it’s okay to be charmed. Attempting more of a story than Møller’s other ‘88 SOV horror flick The Norwegian Drillbit Massacre, it feels a bit rambling but I admire the effort. My critical brain would like to dismiss this and be on my way but that stupid heart of mine is pumping hard for the budget violence and the extended scene of a girl getting dressed in a disgusting bathroom in one of the most innocent bouts of horny filmmaking I’ve come across in anything from Europe.
