Beware (2000) (USA)

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The small town of Shady Grove has a local legend about a tortured boy named Shane. His awful father chained him to a tree in the middle of the woods and left him there so his mother could hear him screaming. He survived through the years and through the multiple fatherly beatings. He now calls the woods home. Of course, he defends his home with violent zeal. Bad news for the group of friends who are looking for a quiet weekend getaway and landed upon Shady Grove as a vacation destination. Florida-shot backyard slasher was self released by director Jason Daly and has the charm required to get me through any obvious budget strain. The red stuff flows as our bulky psychopath lays waste to unfortunate dopes unlucky enough to be sharing the woods with Shane’s sack-masked and chain-fused ass. Location shooting in family homes, empty offices and the local woods combine with all the charm our undeniable Floridians can muster to make us wonder just what level of Hell America’s wang is. Whatever level that shit-stain Rick calls home is no place for me. Daly would go on to remake it about a decade later with more funding which kills the lovely dumpster aesthetic this bad boy has. White-guy kung-fu, rap-metal that definitely sounds like something a Floridian twenty-something would blast, a pasty butt, a wig made of dead varmints, a wig serving as a plot point, some wood paneling and questionable carpeting keep things moving.
