Worst Nightmare (2017) (USA)
⭐️⭐️⭐️

An abandoned church is Tucson is investigated by the police after screams are reported by the neighboring town. The officers discover the devoured corpses of three young men and, more importantly (well, for us at least, I’m sure the friends and family of the dead dopes have other concerns) a camera documenting the final hours of the obnoxious trio. They score some booze with a fake ID and film a whole bunch of nothing but the kind of convincing nothing that a trio of bored dudes who can’t hit up a bar would get into. Eventually, boredom leads to “bravery” and they head across town to a “creepily abandoned” spot to record something cool and throw it on YouTube. That’s how you make money by doing nothing! They make their way into the place (an abandoned house next to an abandoned church) through a suspiciously wide open door and come into to contact with something horrifying… but you knew that. Solid performances and a naturally spooky setting make for an easy but predictable short flick just under fifteen minutes.
